Ultimate Mallorca Getaway: Discover the Best in 3 Days
Ready to escape to the stunning shores of Mallorca for a three-day adventure? This vibrant island, nestled in the Mediterranean, is a treasure trove of sun-kissed beaches, quaint villages, and breathtaking landscapes. In this guide, we’ll take you through a curated journey of Mallorca’s must-visit sites, from the bustling streets of Palma to the countless ‘calas’that dot the coastline. Whether you’re looking to soak up some sun, delve into the local culture, Mallorca is a bucket list place. So pack your sunglasses and your sunscreen and come with me as I uncover the best of Mallorca in just three days!
Mallorca was truly a dream. I’ve never been anywhere so captivating by the beauty in the calas to the stunning scenery of the city center Palma de Mallorca. We stayed in Playa de Palma at Iberostar Selection Playa de Palma for its centralized location to all the calas and hot spots we wanted to visit. If and when we return to Mallorca, I would rather stay in another part of the island which I will touch on later in the post. I highly recommend renting a car to get around the island. Tip: Make sure you have an international drivers license to rent your car! We found this out the hard way…
Day 1
Day 1 in Mallorca, we hit the ground running. Picked up our rental car and headed to the center, Palma de Mallorca. We spent the day & night walking around Palma exploring the city center and beach Playa de Palma.
Food:
- Tapas Palma: a beloved local restaurant in Mallorca renowned for its vibrant atmosphere and deliciously crafted tapas dishes.
- El Gato Loco: eclectic decor and a lively atmosphere complement a creative menu of Spanish fusion dishes
- Bossa Nova: Brazilian cuisine and live music in a vibrant, festive setting
Activities:
- Visit the Palma Cathedral: Discover the architectural splendor of Palma Cathedral, an iconic Gothic landmark towering over the Mallorca coastline, offering breathtaking views and intricate artistry that captivate visitors
- Take the Soller Train: Experience the charm of old-world travel on the Sóller Train in Mallorca, a scenic railway that takes you through the lush landscapes and majestic mountains from Palma to the picturesque town of Sóller
- Playa de Palma: The beach closest to the city center of Palma. Nice beach to walk around, typical of a beach in Europe lined with restaurants and hotels
Day 2
Day 2 we spent cala (caves) hopping. Be prepared to climb up and down rock tight trails in order to get to some of these beautiful calas. I promise it will be worth it!
Food:
- La Bodeguilla: traditional Spanish tapas meet fine wines in an intimate, rustic setting that exudes local charm.
- Kalypsotuttifrutti: Unique restaurant and cocktail bar
Calas to Visit:
You most certainly break this up over a couple of days but since we only had 3 days in Mallorca, we spent day 2 hopping from beach to beach, another reason why a car is highly recommended.
- Calo des Moro
- Sa Calobra Beach
- Cala d’Or
- Cala Llombards
- Cala Pi
Day 3
On our last day we ventured out into my favorite part of the island, Deia. The stunning mountains and backdrop of Deia will leave you speechless. It was absolutely my favorite part of Mallorca and I would love to have stayed longer to explore. We also made a small pit spot earlier in the day to “said beach club” more on that below.
Food
- El Olivo: You most likely have heard of this beautiful scenic restaurant. I tried to make reservations 3 months in advance and still wasn’t able to secure a spot. We still showed up and were able to get a table at another restaurant at the hotel which was really nice.
- Cafe Deia: Beautiful cafe with stunning views of Deia.
- Sebastian: Upscale restaurant with more breathing views of Deia
Activities
- Cala Deia: Deia does have a beautiful beach worth visiting if you are in the area
- Gran Folies: Beautiful beach club. Be sure to reserve chairs in advance.
- Day trip to Fomentor: The northern most part of the island. If you have time this may be a good spot to go in the morning and then make your way to Deia in the afternoon/evening.
- Visit Valldemossa: 10 minute drive from Deia, picturesque town
