Day 1: Arrival

Depending what time of day you get into Milos, you can take it easy day 1 or try to pack in some iconic places. Check into your hotel, we stayed at Domes White Coast Milos. I absolutely loved this hotel, while it is a bit off the beaten path, the property is gorgeous with stunning views every where you look.

places to go on day 1

If you decide to go out and about on day 1, these are the places I recommend visiting

  • Adamantas: This is the main port where you come into via the ferry. There’s not a ton to do here but it’s nice to walk around and they do have some really good dinner spots! We had dinner here on our first night.
  • Pollonia: Super cute harbor town. Most people decide to stay around this area for its location. Very nice to have an evening walk around.
  • Firiplaka Beach: If you do get into Milos earlier in the day, I recommend checking out Firiplaka beach. Beautiful rock formations and a great way to start your first day.

Dinner recommendation: Nostos is located in Adamantas. If you get in late this is a great spot right by the port. We had an amazing dinner here and enjoyed the water views, super convenient location.

Sarakiniko Beach

Day 2: Village hopping & Beaches

We are packing in a ton on Day 2! This is where your car is definitely coming to come in clutch! Beach hopping, village shopping, you name it. Day 2 is packed to get the most of your time in Milos.

places to go on day 2

  • Sarakiniko Beach: The most iconic beach in Milos. I recommend coming here early in the morning. It gets pretty packed and parking is limited. Even if you don’t come here to swim (it does get quite hot with the rocks!) its so cool to see this beach. Feels like you’re walking on Mars
  • Klima Village: Another iconic spot that you probably saw when researching Milos. This cute little fishing village is everything. I will say, there is not a ton to do here. A couple of restaurants
  • Mandrakia: This tiny village is similar to Klima but I think I actually liked it better! Similar colorful doors and our dinner spot was right in the village.

Dinner recommendation: Medusa is right by Mandrakia. They don’t take reservations so you will have to wait but there was a Mojito truck outside! Perfect way to wait and also Mandrakia is so cute!

Day 3: BOAT DAY!

Day 3 in Milos was my favorite day! You absolutely have to do a boat trip. I found that the boats in Milos were more affordable than if you did a boat day in some of the more popular islands (looking at you, Mykonos & Santorini lol). We did a half day private boat (~4 hours) and I thought this was perfect! It gives you time in the late afternoon to do more things if you got in later on day 1.

boat rental company

We booked through Poseidon Milos. They were great, and our captain was wonderful, knowledgeable and took us to so many places within our 4 hours. If I recall, we paid around $400

PLACES TO GO ON DAY 3

  • Boat day: As mentioned above, the boat day will likely be most of your day 3!
  • Trypiti: Another beautiful village if you have some more time to visit. The views here are incredible.
  • Venetian Castle (Kastro): Right above the village of Trypiti, it is a nice hike we did midday which was probably a bad idea because of how hot it was lol but we did this before our boat day that started a little later (~12pm).

Dinner Recommendation: Makris Restaurant in the White Domes hotel was magical. Sunset views, Michelin star dining. You really can’t go wrong!

Practical Tips for MILOS

Getting Around

  • Car: Rent a car! It’s pretty hard to get around Milos without a car.
  • Ferry: You will likely get to Milos via ferry which is located in Adamantas
  • Boat: Boat day mentioned above, absolute MUST DO
  • Taxi: 100% arrange a taxi with your hotel ahead of time. When we arrived at the port in Milos we didn’t do this and ended up having to call our hotel anyway because of how busy it was!

Where to Eat

  • Medusa: One of your favorite meals in Milos. Absolutely love the location of this place.
  • Nostos: Super convenient, located by the port. Food was incredible and views spectacular
  • O! Hamos! Tavern: Funny, we were supposed to go here instead of Nostos, but they were jam booked! Definitely will try next time we are in Milos, I have heard nothing but great things but will book ahead!
  • Εστιατόριο Εργινα: A local favorite, great sunset spot. Will definitely try the next time we are in Milos
  • Makris Restaurant: If you want a fine dining experience, this is located at the Domes White Coast Milos hotel. Loved our dinner here with the most insane sunset views!
